A simple day at the gardens


we have a beautiful botanical garden nearby. On a really hot day you can be guaranteed to be almost the only person there. My kids and I took advantage of that and walked around the gardens together in the sweltering sun. It felt like we had rented the garden out to ourselves. Funny how if you're willing to be uncomfortable, you will get rewarded with your own private viewing of the Selby Gardens. Opt for a nice day and you will be doing more people watching then plant watching. I rewarded my kids with ice cold hibiscus tea in the air conditioned tea room after this adventure. They earned it.
